Dr. Mary Willy

Dr. Mary Willy, also known to many as Dr. Mary, has lived in many places throughout the country including Missouri, Colorado, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. From a very young age, team-based care has been a part of Dr. Mary’s life as she observed her parents work together as part of a clinical team providing medical care in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Dr. Mary and her four younger brothers spent many of their summers as children exploring the Western Slope of Colorado. After experiencing medicine in the inner city, the heart of Appalachia and rural Kenya, she settled in Grand Junction in 2007 to provide pediatric care to the youth of our community and raise her family.

Dr. Mary enjoys supporting families as their children grow from infants into self-sufficient adults. In addition to providing preventive care, she believes in the proactive detection and treatment of behavioral and mental health symptoms. She is dedicated to the exploration of community based resources and develops a care plan that best meets the needs of each family.

Dr. Mary is a Board Certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She graduated from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999 as a third generation D.O. and completed her pediatric residency training through Medical University of Ohio before going on to teach pediatrics at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Locally, she is actively involved in community efforts focused on upstream prevention of Adverse Childhood Events through her work with “How Are The Children - Mesa County” and various other programs throughout our community.

In her spare time, Dr. Mary enjoys attending various music and youth sporting events. On a cool winter evening, she and her daughter can be found exploring new baking techniques. Together, with her family, Dr. Mary enjoys camping and their travels exploring regional cultures and architecture.
