Well visits are an important part of your child’s health and development. These visits allow providers to monitor growth, provide recommended immunizations, and address any concerns as your child grows. Staying consistent with these visits helps ensure your child receives the screenings and preventive care appropriate for each stage of life.

Below is an overview of what to expect at each stage of your child’s well visits.
 

3 Days - 6 Months

3–5 Days
Immunizations:
• Hep B #1 and RSV vaccine (if not given in the hospital)

2 Weeks
Immunizations:
• Hep B #1 and RSV vaccine
Additional Tests/Screens/Assessments:
• Edinburgh (Postpartum Depression Screen)
• Newborn Screen #2

1 Month
Immunizations:
• Hep B and RSV vaccine
Additional Tests/Screens/Assessments:
• Postpartum Depression Screening (Edinburgh)

2 Months
Immunizations:
• Pediarix (DTaP-Hep B-Polio)
• Hib
• PCV15
• Rotavirus
• RSV (in season)
Additional Tests/Screens/Assessments:
• Postpartum Depression Screening (Edinburgh)

4 Months
Immunizations:
• Pediarix (DTaP-Hep B-Polio)
• Hib
• PCV15
• Rotavirus
• RSV (in season)

• Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ Developmental Screening)

6 Months
